Ever since I began my campaign to run for the School Board, I have had a website to keep my constituents informed. As you may know, the School Board has adopted a new program called Board Docs, which has now made School Board happenings available via the internet. On our Botetourt County Public Schools Web Site, you are now able to access the agenda, minutes, decisions, etc, of the School Board right from your own home keeping you informed of the most current happenings.
Beginning with our September meeting, we started conducting our Board meeting via the computer. This change will now enable you to access information month by month at your leisure. All policies, changes in the curriculum, school closings, calendar, etc. and any other pertinent information has been put on the web site for your convenience. We want you to be well informed and up to date on all of our school happenings. This change to computer generated information allows us to cut back on the amount of paper, postage, secretary time, and money to cover the costs of all these. It will be quite a savings to our school division, and provides more information and quicker turn around time for those seeking to know what’s happening. The convenience of accessing this information right from your own home is a real plus.
Cathy Benson is also doing a great job covering our school news for the newspaper and on her web site for additional insight and convenience. We are very fortunate to have such great coverage and such wonderful opportunities that we can access at the touch of a button. I truly hope people take advantage of these sites and get the most up to date, valuable school information. We love for people to attend our meetings, but if you are unable to attend, then you can get the information you missed by going to your computer.
I will not be duplicating the information on my web site that is already available to you on our Botetourt County web site. When I first ran for the School Board 8 years ago, the school division didn’t provide the information on a web site as we do today. I will keep my web site and post information as deemed necessary and the link from the Botetourt County web site to my web site will remain for your convenience.

People do not have time to wade through all the information available, so I want to streamline our efforts to be sure you get what you need as quickly as possible.
